Fairfield is regularly named as one of the best places to live in Connecticut. The town offers enviable coastal access, proximity to New York City, charming New England architecture and ample opportunities for family fun. It is no wonder that Fairfield residents undergoing divorce may fear having to give up the lives they have built. The attorneys at Needle | Cuda work strategically to help Fairfield clients hold onto what matters most during high net worth divorces, custody battles and other disputes.
Anyone truly familiar with the town of Fairfield knows the pride residents take in the community they continually foster, the lives they build and the memories they share. The attorneys and legal staff at our firm have strong personal connections to the town of Fairfield. Attorney Melissa Needle is a Fairfield, CT native and attended public schools through her graduation from the former Roger Ludlow High School. As a child, Attorney Needle also played little league on all of the baseball, primary, middle school, and high school fields throughout the town with her father, Attorney Charles M. Needle, watching closely as her former coach.
We all take such things for granted today, but in 1974, Melissa had to sue the National Little League for the right to play. When she was only a 3rd grader at Stratfield School, Melissa fought in Federal Court and ultimately won the ability “to play ball.” Her lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in New Haven with the help of her mother, Nancy Needle, a Fairfield school teacher. Their lawsuit charged that Little League officials were discriminating against Melissa strictly on the basis of sex by permitting only boys to play little league.
Our firm and its extended families have enjoyed many years of celebrations with friends and families at the Penfield Beach Pavilions, sunsets at the Fairfield Beach Club, youth sports down at South Pine Creek, hikes around Lake Mohegan, playing bogey golf with an occasional birdie down at Smith-Richardson, walking our dog (Cooper) down Sasco Hill Rd. and Sasco Beach, memories of seeing a movie at the old community theater followed by a chocolate dipped cone at DQ, a reuben down at the Firehouse Deli and picking up our Thanksgiving Turkeys and Christmas filets from Craig down at Spic & Span in Southport.
We are also big fans of the diversity offered by Fairfield’s neighborhoods like Greenfield Hill, Southport, Sasco Hill, Brooklawn, Fairfield Beach, Fairfield Center, Blackrock, Sturges, Stratfield, Sturges, Tunxis Hill, and Grasmere, Lake Hills, Lake Mohegan, and Fairfield University.
We interact with our Fairfield neighbors on a daily basis, whether on Metro North, at local restaurants, or on the sidelines – the boosters for the Warde-Mustangs, Ludlow-Falcons, and the Prep-Jesuits all get equal treatment. After decades living in the area, we understand the values and concerns of Fairfield parents and homeowners. We will listen empathetically to your individual needs.
